Michael has loved crafts for as long as he can remember. He learned to knit in 2001 and quickly ascended the ranks of the industry - first, working and teaching in local yarn stores in Washington DC, then writing "Knitting with Balls: A Hands-On Guide to Knitting for the Modern Male." He's designed for industry yarn companies and magazines, is a skilled pattern writer, and has taught thousands of hours of knitting and crochet instruction. Since 2009, he has worked with mills abroad on product development, color development, and design and has developed hand-knitting yarn collections for Isaac Mizrahi CRAFT, The Deborah Norville Collection, and private branded programs in the US and abroad. He lives in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia with two extraordinary cats and a neatly organized, but extensive, yarn stash.
