There's plenty of free off-street parking for customers in our private lot (and on the street). Our shop is located at ground level, so there are no steps or stairs to climb.
Our customers travel from throughout the mid-Atlantic area and further to purchase fiber arts supplies and enjoy classes with renowned instructors at our White Stone, Virginia yarn shop. We offer one of the largest selections in the region at our 3,000 square foot bricks & mortar retail location.
We host fiber arts guild meetings and field trips at our onsite knitting and weaving school. Recently, groups from Charlottesville, Fredericksburg, Northern Virginia, Richmond, and Williamsburg have organized especial trips to visit us. There's great takeout available across the street. We're closer than you might think. Gloucester Courthouse is about 30 minutes away. Other landmarks are: Alexandria (88 miles as the crow flies), Baltimore (114 miles), Charlottesville (117 miles), the District of Columbia (93 miles), Fairfax (97 miles), Fredericksburg (74 miles), Hampton (43 miles), Leesburg (120 miles), Lexington (167 miles), Norfolk (55 miles), Richmond (58 miles), and Williamsburg (31 miles).
Driving here from the south, you'll enjoy spectacular views of the Rappahannock River and Chesapeake Bay from the route 3 bridge (no tolls, but watch for speed traps at both ends). Coming from the north and west via route 3, you'll see lots of scenic countryside. The views are also exceptional if you're traveling by boat to one of the nearby yacht clubs or marinas, or flying here.
Once you've arrived, The Triangle Trolley does an hourly loop through White Stone, Irvington, and Kilmarnock on Fridays and Saturdays and holidays from late May through early October. Some of the trolley stops include Historic Christ Church, the Steamboat Era Museum, The Dog & Oyster Vineyard, gift shops, antique shops, exquisite art galleries, ice cream shops, coffee shops, marinas, lodgings, and a wonderful selection of restaurants. The Trolley also travels right by the Dirt Woman Fiber Arts shop in White Stone.
