Dirt Woman Fiber Arts is a boutique destination purveyor of quality yarns; knitting, weaving, spinning, dyeing, crocheting, felting, and tapestry supplies; and handknitted/handwoven items.
We operate a knitting and weaving school on our premises, and offer one of the largest selections of yarn and fiber arts supplies in the region at our 3,000 square foot bricks & mortar shop.
We're located in the White Stone/Irvington/Kilmarnock area of Lancaster County, Virginia, a Chesapeake Bay-oriented destination resort and leisure community with exceptional shopping, dining, lodging, spa, vineyard, golf, and sporting amenities for you to enjoy while visiting us.
Our name comes from our founder's passion for gardening. Her experiments with historical uses of herbs, flowers, and other botanical ingredients led her to develop a line of traditionally formulated bath and skin care products and an exquisite palette of hand dyed yarns. A serious knitter and seamstress since childhood, she taught herself how to weave as an adult. Her favorite weaving loom is an eight shaft built by Leclerc more than 100 years ago. Her handknitted and handwoven garments and household goods, as well as her yarns, patterns, and bath and skin care products, are available in our shop. She also weaves bespoke garments and textiles.
Thank you for your business and referrals. We look forward to seeing you soon!
